2.Introductions to Scenic Spots Listed in the Itinerary:
• Elephant Trunk Hill: Guilin’s symbol, shaped like an elephant drinking water. With Shuiyue Cave running through the hill, it offers a view of mountains and rivers reflecting each other.
• Shuiyue Cave: A natural limestone cave in Elephant Trunk Hill. Semi-circular in shape, with the river flowing through it; under moonlight, it looks like “the moon reflecting in water”.
• Jingjiang Prince’s Mansion: A well-preserved Ming Dynasty princely mansion. It houses mansion buildings and an ancient imperial examination hall (Gongyuan), and you can climb Solitary Beauty Peak to overlook the city.
• Zhengyang Pedestrian Street: A downtown commercial street in Guilin, with specialty shops, food stores, and places to buy Guilin specialties.
• Xiaoyao Tower: A historic tower dating back to the Tang Dynasty (now reconstructed). Climb it to overlook the Lijiang River and the scenery of the old city.
• East-West Lane: An ancient lane from the Ming and Qing dynasties, with grey bricks and tiles. It has intangible cultural heritage shops and teahouses for experiencing traditional culture.
• Lijiang River Cruise: Departs from Zhujiang/Mopan Mountain Wharf. The 3.5-hour cruise offers views of the Lijiang River and includes a simple meal.
• Xingping Ancient Town: An ancient town along the Lijiang River, with Ming and Qing-era old streets. It is the filming location for the background of the 20-yuan RMB note.
• Yangshuo West Street: A commercial street in Yangshuo, blending Chinese and Western cultures. Lively at night, it’s great for experiencing a relaxing atmosphere.
• Yulong River Bamboo Rafting: Rafting on a tributary of the Lijiang River, with manually poled rafts. The Jinlong Bridge-Jiuxian Village section offers idyllic mountain and river views.
• Ten-Mile Gallery: A scenic road in Yangshuo, about 5 km long. Take an electric bike to enjoy views of Moon Hill, Big Banyan Tree, and other attractions.
• “Guilin Eternal Love”: A 1.5-hour immersive song and dance show, presenting Guilin’s history and ethnic customs.
• Longji Terraced Fields: Terraces cultivated by the Zhuang and Yao ancestors. Shimmering in spring and golden in autumn, its core areas are Ping’an Village and Jinkeng Village.
