2.Introductions to Scenic Spots Listed in the Itinerary:
• Du Fu Thatched Cottage: It was the former residence where Du Fu lived in exile in Chengdu, and he created more than 240 poems here. The cottage has undergone multiple renovations and is now a national AAAA-level tourist attraction and a national first-class museum.
• Kuanzhai Alleys: Composed of Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley and Jing Alley, they are ancient streets left over from the Qing Dynasty. Combining the styles of northern hutongs and western Sichuan residential buildings, there are many characteristic snack shops and cultural stores here.
• Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base: Situated in Chenghua District, Chengdu, it is a world-famous ex-situ conservation base for giant pandas. Famous for simulating the wild ecological environment of giant pandas, it has the world’s largest artificial breeding population of captive giant pandas.
• Wuhou Shrine: Located on Wuhou Shrine Street, Chengdu, it is the only shrine in China where emperors and ministers are enshrined together. It consists of the Three Kingdoms Historical Relics Area, the Three Kingdoms Culture Experience Area and the Jinli Folk Custom Area, with buildings in the style of palaces of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
• Jinli Ancient Street: Adjacent to Wuhou Shrine, it is an antique commercial street with the connotation of Three Kingdoms culture and western Sichuan folk customs. It has scenic spots such as an ancient stage and Jiupin Snack Street, and its night view is unique.
• Dujiangyan Irrigation System: A World Cultural Heritage site, located in Dujiangyan City, Chengdu. Constructed under the leadership of Li Bing and his son, it is the oldest, only remaining and still in use large-scale water conservancy project in the world so far.
• Qingcheng Mountain: Located in the southwest of Dujiangyan City, it is the birthplace of Taoism and enjoys the reputation of “the most secluded mountain under heaven”. It is divided into the Front Mountain and the Back Mountain. The Front Mountain is densely covered with cultural relics and historic sites, while the Back Mountain boasts beautiful natural scenery.
• Yulin Road Area: Generally referring to the Yulin area in Chengdu, it includes many small streets such as Fangcao Street and Fanghua Street. It gathers cuisines like hot pot and Chuanchuan (skewered food), as well as bars and independent bookstores, combining literary atmosphere with the vibe of daily life.
• Emei Mountain: One of the four famous Buddhist mountains in China. The sunrise and sea of clouds at the Golden Summit are highly ornamental. It is a well-known tourist resort and a sacred place of Buddhist culture.
